Christmas Eve at First Church

Christmas Eve will be a time filled wonder and worship.

At 7:00 p.m., we will have a wonderful worship service that includes our candle lighting service and much Christmas music.

At 11:00 p.m., our young people will present a prelude concert and at 11:30, we will return to the traditional half-hour service of Word, Song and Candlelight. These will be special times for families to worship together.

Please join us for both of the wonderful services that your hearts may be prepared for Christmas.

Midweek Youth Program!

Midweek starts this Wednesday for grades 1-12! Midweek is a fun and fast-paced after-school fellowship, which includes Dinner, Bible Study, Activities, Worship Skills, and Games for siblings during alternative times. Bible Study for first through sixth graders begins at 5:30 p.m.; dinner for all grades is at 6:00 p.m.

Fees remain the same as previous years, 25$ for the first child, 17.50 for the 2nd child, and $12.50 for the 3rd child per semester, confidential scholarships are available.

Ready for back to school?
Remember to get back to church; our program year begins with Genesis Sunday, 9/19! Church School for all ages at 9:15am, Fellowship at 10am, and worship at 10:30am.

For a prequel, join us for our All-Church Picnic on Sunday, 8/29. Note: change of venue from previously published Eljer Park, we'll be at the American Legion Park under the shade trees!

VBS!

COME ONE COME ALL and support Christian Education. We are having a kick-off dinner to be followed immediately by an ice cream social and Worship on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 6pm. We will be accepting donations which will go to support our Christian Education programs.

Also, Come one and ALL (all ages and groups, this means YOU!) to Vacation Bible School July 19-23, 2010 from 6pm-7:30pm. We will enjoy fellowship, worship, and visiting some of the classic stories of the Old Testament. We cannot wait to see you there.

Cookies for Military Personnel

We are in need, once again, of 25 dozen cookies. The due date to bring them to the Church is Sunday, June 20th. If you can, wrap them in the CLING WRAP, two cookies back to back.

Summer Camps and Programs

Kirkmont Center is an amazing Presbyterian church camp located rather close to our community. Any of our youth who are interested in a camp for their age group need to sign up soon. Brown Bag Lunches

The Union County Community Kitchen is asking for prayer for their Brown Bag Lunch program this summer. They would also appreciate volunteers for assembling and handing out lunches, and donations of ingredients.

A sample menu:

Sandwich - 2 slices o bread, one slice of lunch meat, one slice of cheese
Fruit or veggie - grapes, apple or banana or celery & carrots
Juice - box or pouch

Extra - cookies, [2 medium size], individual bag of chips or crackers

The program will be running on Wednesdays between June 16 and August 18.
